I had the same thing. And had to go back to balsa instead of the new system - but it seems to only affect gnome. KDE is fine.

The key is like the password for your encrypted wireless router. It needs to be a hexadecimal one you set in your router.

The serendipity web site allows you to install plugins. On of them was a coppermine thumbnail side bar which I am using on top left.

How do you embed a gallery created with Coppermine into a web page? I'm using Trellix Web Builder to build a website from a template, and there is an option to insert HTML if I need to.

If not, is there a simple fading slideshow code I can use that only has to be inserted between the body tags of the page and no where else?

Thanks for the reply, that's eased my mind a lot, especially as i've just ordered the machine!

I do plan on installing Ubuntu as Windows has always frightened the B'Jesus outta me with all the virus filters, firewalls and the like! It's a constant reminder that your continued use of a computer is has the dangerous prospect that some hacker is going to access all your bank details, drop a trojan and a worm or whatever they're calling them these days, and before you know it your machine is just a pile of bolts and useless wires. That, and the subscriptions, fees and annual costs for these protective programs really chafe me in the nether regions!

I am writing this on my 7 year old Mac ibook and have loved almost every minute of it, but with the time to upgrade coming close, and money short, my attention was grabbed by Netbooks and Ubuntu. This seemed to be an ideal solution to replace my ageing Mac.

I'll keep in touch if I come across any useful info that I think is of benefit and/or I come across a problem you may have encountered and overcome.

Thanks again.

    So far so good.

WIfi has been perfect - the gui tool picks up all my local networks, no connection problems.

Sound - works fine - need to have the levels up a bit for headphones. I did follow a little tip regarding mixer setup

Function keys work fine, as does the switch for wifi on the front

Bluetooth - havent tried it but it does detect adaptor.

Suspend seems to work, after a few mins wifi works too.

Hope that helps.
Hi, I too am thinking of purchasing this netbook. Can you tell me if everything is working A-ok now that you've had a chance to play around with it for a bit?

I've heard stories of wi-fi not connecting, bluetooth not working, sound not audible, hot keys not functioning and the like.....

Just wondering if you've encountered anything like this with Ubuntu and if not, what HAS been your biggest challenge with that software?

Hi there, I also installed Coppermine on a GoDaddy server. Same here - don't, and I say don't install it using the Value Added Applications menu.
See http://www.fredwobus.com/2006-09-12-the-pitfalls-of-webhosting.html for the my reasons why.

I was wondering whether you found a way for Coppermine to load the EXIF info. Your gallery doesn't show it, maybe it didnÄt work for you either.

Hello from the USA, I was reading your post and I too have a wg511v2. I'm trying to get it working on ubuntu 6.06 however I don't have the CD since my mother sent me just the card and my sister's old dell laptop. Is there any way you can send me the inf and sys files since you obviously have the CD? I'm going nuts trying to get my wireless working. I tried a wg311v3 with no luck so now I'm trying this and can't get the drivers for win2k since I don't have the CD.
Would you be a good chap and send them to my email? I believe the win2k drivers is what I need. maybe XP will work also??? You seem to know more than me.
